Growing a Healthy Lawn with Less Water

Welcome to our Watering Wisdom: Growing a Healthy Lawn with Less Water webinar series event page. We hosted a free, five-part summer webinar series in the summer of 2020 that focused on turfgrass and irrigation topics to help homeowners have healthier lawns and more efficient irrigation systems. If you are interested in learning more about our work, please watch the recordings below or visit our Irrigation Resources page.

UMN Turfgrass Science Team in MGCSA Hole Notes publication

Hole Notes, a publication by the Minnesota Golf Course Superintendents Association (MGCSA), recently featured our team in several articles.  Graduate students James Wolfin and Hannah Ramer wrote an in-depth article on University of Minnesota research on bee lawns titled Redesign Your Rough (and driving range): Implementing Conservation Practices in Low-Use Areas to Support Pollinators. There is also a great photo spread on the Turf and Grounds Field Day held on August 9, 2018 with the Minnesota Turf and Grounds Foundation.

Video: Too Much of a Good Thing

Extension educator Sam Bauer was recently featured in a video - Too Much of a Good Thing: Watering Your Lawn and the Water Supply in the Twin Cities - from the Metropolitan Council.  Watch to learn more about our partnership with the Metropolitan Council on a two-year water efficiency project.
