Check out our team’s latest efforts in educating the public about our work!  We have three articles, several podcasts and two public outreach events.

Brian Horgan, Eric Lonsdorf, Chris Nootenboom and Ben Janke wrote The Value of a Golf Course for the Department of Horticultural Science Spring/Summer 2018 Horticulture Newsletter.

Chase Straw and Brian Horgan authored A Practical Option For Mapping Fairway Soil Moisture for the June edition of Hole Notes magazine, a publication by Minnesota Golf Course Superintendents Association.

Graduate student James Wolfin was quoted in an article, Minnesota Will Pay Residents to Grow Bee-Friendly Lawns, at Smithsonian.com on June 17, 2019.

WCCO’s Smart Gardens podcasts feature Jon Trappe and other UMN horticulture educators who answer listeners' questions on gardening. To hear questions and answers about lawns, listen to the episodes from 5/18/19, 6/8/19, 6/15/19, and 6/22/19.  

On Saturday, July 20, 2019, Dan Sandor will be part of the Washington County Master Gardeners Tour. He will be at Garden 5 to answer questions on irrigation and turf.

On Thursday, July 25, 2019, Dan Sandor will be in White Bear Lake at the MarketFest summer festival. He will be answering questions on turf and irrigation as part of their Environmental Resource Expo.
