University of Minnesota Turfgrass team in the media 2/18/19

Check out our team’s latest efforts in educating the public about our work!  We have a podcast and several upcoming presentations at regional conferences.

Parker Anderson was featured on the Frankly Speaking podcast on 02/11/2019. He discussed the Science of the Green Initiative, a research partnership between the USGA and the University of Minnesota, and the sustainability of golf. 

Dr. Chase Straw will be speaking about “Precision turfgrass management applications for golf courses” and “Technologies for sports field performance testing” at the 34th Annual North Central Turfgrass Association Conference and Trade Show. This will event be held on February 26-28, 2019 in Fargo, ND.

Dr. Jon Trappe will be speaking about “Calendar of Weed Control in Turf” and “Optimizing Nitrogen Uptake While Minimizing Nutrient Loss on Golf Courses” at the 34th Annual North Central Turfgrass Association Conference and Trade Show. This will event be held on February 26-28, 2019 in Fargo, ND.

Dr. Eric Watkins, Dr. Nancy Ehlke and Dr. Florence Sessoms will be giving presentations at the Perennial Ryegrass Production Meeting in Roseau, MN on February 19, 2019.  Topics will be the fine fescue breeding program, grass seed research and intercropping systems for fine fescue establishment.

Dr. Dan Sandor will be speaking on "Lawn Care Practices to Promote Water Conservation" at the Minneapolis Home + Garden Show this Friday at 1:00PM at the Minnesota State Horticultural Society Garden Stage.
