The Turfgrass Science team will be at the 2025 Minnesota State Fair starting Thursday, August 21 through Labor Day, September 1. We will be there all 12 days from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
New study aims to improve drought resilience in lawn grass mixtures

Through years of research and observation we know that some grasses are better than others for drought, shade, disease resistance, spring greenup, and many other desirable qualities (Figure 1). For instance, choosing a drought tolerant grass can save a lot of water while the aesthetics and the function of the lawn remain good, especially during drier conditions.

UMN Turfgrass Team at Hennepin County Master Gardener Learning Garden Tour - 7/12/25
We will be at the Hennepin County Master Gardeners Learning Garden Tour on Saturday, July 12, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 on the day of the tour.
Please stop by and see the educational displays on lawn care and irrigation best management practices. The Turfgrass Science team will be there to answer your questions regarding low-input lawn maintenance, how to manage your lawn water use or just about anything else relating to lawns.
