Education

Undergraduate Studies

Our Horticulture degree provides students with an excellent education in turfgrass science.  All students take courses in the core curriculum and then, with consultation from a faculty adviser, design their own program of study that suits their educational needs and career goals.  For more information about the program or for information about applying, please visit the Horticulture prospective students page.

Graduate Studies

Students interested in graduate study in turfgrass science have two options depending on their ultimate career goals.  For those students that already have an undergraduate degree in another discipline, and desire to enter the turfgrass management profession, we provide the Master of Professional Studies in Horticulture.  For students interested in Masters of Science or Ph.D. programs, we offer the Applied Plant Sciences graduate program.

Continuing Education

Currently, we offer two primary continuing education opportunities.  The School of Turfgrass Management is held in conjunction with the University of Wisconsin-Madison each winter, typically in mid to late February.  This is a 4-day, intensive course that covers the basics of turfgrass management.  We also are currently offering a fully online course on turfgrass pathology; for more information on this opportunity, please click here.
