There are a number of different grass options for home lawns in Minnesota. Consumers can select grasses that provide high quality turf, but require more intense management, or consumers can choose lower-input grasses that need less care. The aesthetic and performance differences between species should be considered when selecting turfgrasses for the home lawn or other higher-cut turf areas. Once a species is selected, it is important that consumers base variety selection on unbiased research data.
